As elegantly composed as Bach's Cello Suite No 1 in G Major, this oozes elegance and class. Weingut Schneider is situated in the village of Weil am Rhein, nestled on the border of Germany, France and Switzerland, with vineyards situated on the "Weiler Schlipf," limestone rich soils and south westerly exposure - perfect components for the heartbreak grape to flourish.
There's something incredibly Burgundian about all of Schneider's Pinots. With the creme de la creme Tristar CS, one doesn't get more power or weight, but a more finely laced, complex wine with incredible concentration and depth. Scented, savoury, with a wisp of smoke and wood tannin, this certainly emulates some of the Cote d'Or's finest at a fraction of the price. Sleek, balanced, with such poise to rival a prima ballerina.
