Lobster and Wine? Don't Mind if I do!

I'd promised my guests a seafood risotto using a lobster stock that I'd had the good fortune to be able to make, courtesy of our local fisherman friend, who has creels off the islands of Cumbrae and Bute in the Firth of Clyde. Now, before you think I eat lobster every day, sadly I don't. It's pretty much an annual treat, but I do love it. We drank that with Condrieu Christophe Blanc (made from Viognier) - also a treat - and that was amazing. It hadn’t really crossed my mind how exactly I would cook the risotto but I had chosen the wine, a Piemontese Roero Arneis, which had been winking at me since its arrival in the fridge a few days earlier. Fortunately the risotto worked out brilliantly, but I just wish I hadn't poured so much of the wine into it, as drinking it with the salty fish flavoured rice with prawns and parsley was just perfect. 
I don't go out of my way to make the match spot on. I like to be in the zone, but if it works out as well as it did it's thrilling. I was so excited that the next day I popped along to the fish shop and picked up some fresh line caught mackerel that I grilled whole on the barbeque, served with new potatoes and mint, and yet again, the match was amazing. 
Suffice to say, this Roero Arneis, from a top white winemaker in the Alba region is perfect for drinking now and this Autumn with fish and for kitchen guzzling.
