BK Wines

We've been working with BK Wines for more than three years now and their stock has been rising almost vertically since then. These wines are now seriously sought-after, with sommeliers at many of London's most exciting restaurants lapping them up. Brendon and Kirstyn Keys set up BK Wines in 2007 after stints in Argentina, New Zealand and California, working with legends such as Paul Hobbs.

Their devotion to great wine is only matched by their devotion to fun and adventure. As far as we’re aware there aren’t many wineries with a functioning skate park in the back. That winemaker Brendon Keys (BK) has had ‘Hand Made’ tattooed onto his knuckles in a sort of artisanal, hipster version of the angry con’s ‘Love Hate’ is indicative of his commitment to the cause, or madness, or perhaps both. Working closely with their growers (many of the cuvées are named in honour of those who own the vines, as they only produce single-vineyard wines) and paying meticulous attention in the winery, the Keys produce something for everyone. Brendon sculpts classically-styled Chardonnay and poised Pinot Noirs, but also isn’t afraid to experiment with skin contact, carbonic maceration and more ‘natural’ winemaking styles. New cuvées are always treated with a fribbling sense of expectation in the Swig office.
