Soft plum and cherry - lovely warmth on the nose, with a hint of cedar and spice and oh-so moreish soft palate. There's a note of leather, blackberry compote and polished coffee bean. Good structure but certainly without big or harsh tannins. Really joyful all round, and jolly good value!
Chateau la Guillaumette are a rare example of a small Bordelais family domaine wanting to make honest, natural wines without high prices, fuss or fanfare. Estate duties are split between brothers Antoine and Alexandre. Farming organically, and opting to use no SO2 throughout vinification, with only one small addition at bottling, this is Bordeaux in its most authentic and untampered with.
