Tasting Notes
Honeyed, charming and delicious with notes of creme brulee over dried apricot fruit with that lovely flavour of mature sweet wines from this region of Bordeaux. It's drinking superbly and considering it's a 75cl bottle it's amazing value. It goes without saying this would be delicious with many sweet treats like panna cotta or custard tart but it also goes well with savoury things. Try with cheeses like Beaufort or Brie, a fine paté on sourdough toast or with salted almonds for that salty, sweet match made in heaven.

It's been 12 years since we first brought in La Bertrande. It's a wine that customers ask me about more than many, telling me wistfully of when they had their last bottle. In fact, I was prompted by a customer to call the lovely proprietor, Anne-Marie Gillet, who is the 5th generation to make wine at Chateau La Bertrande. She sent samples of both her top wine, 2010 Summum, but also the Cadillac 2011, her house sweet wine. This is quite some find for the price.
