Light and floral-herbal, beautiful nose – jewels of cherry and pomegranate and marzipan. Such elegant cherry mallow. Palate simultaneously savoury and sour cherry with a mineral clarity and ethereal elegance.
The tannins are fresh and dry at the end but supple, silky mid-palate. This is pinot at such a fine pitch, like a finely detailed watercolour!
FROM THE PRESS
“The Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge may be the youngest of the valley's three wards in terms of vineyard age, but it's producing increasingly impressive wines. This stony, sappy, savoury Pinot Noir, deftly wooded in 25% new barrels, has floral top notes, fresh acidity and subtle red cherry and pomegranate fruit.”Tim Atkin MW
