Tasting Notes
Elegant, dusty petrichor minerality on the nose. On the palate, peach and citrus zest, vanilla and spiciness and wood tannin, very palate-cleansing minerality. Mineral character balanced with hints of citrus fruits and white flowers. Dry with a textured creamy-citrus palate and a mineral finish.

Thanks to its higher altitude schist and granite terroirs, the Douro has become a real focal point for these sensational wines. Imagine the lovely, complex white blends of the South African New Wavers – the fantastic wines featured below are like a more saline, fresher/less rich version of them. This is not to do a disservice to the Saffers – it’s just that these wines are pitched at a slightly lighter register, with the same complexity and subtle hints of the exotic, yet with a sea-spray, saline, citrus element which distinguishes them.
