Tasting Notes
The Curator White Blend is consistently a feat of brilliance, and yet the 2021 is even better!! It’s vanishingly rare to find this kind of flavour, balance and freshness in a white at this price. Crunchy apple, honeydew melon, apple bon bons, with a surprisingly ample mouthfeel, greengage and lemon sherbet loaded. There's notes of gooseberry fool there too, with yellow plums and a hint of butter and biscuit and tantalisingly acidity on finish. Produced predominantly from old bush vines grown in granite and slate soils. Chenin blanc makes up the main portion of the blend giving backbone and structure, with some Chardonnay and Viognier too.

We firmly believe that Adi Badenhorst is the most exciting winemaker in South Africa. He is also the most frustrating. His laid back, self-deprecating, playful manner keeps you guessing and makes you wonder whether he has any idea what he is actually doing, whether he just chucks some grapes into a vat and hopes for the best, but we know full well that there is a huge amount of expertise that goes on behind closed doors, when no one is around to witness his skill and diligence ...and spoil his reputation!
