Or for Puligny, it's a bit 'Clavoillon' but without the weight. The style is lean, racy, steely, with a citrus palate, with some nice fruit to carry it, but it's that lovely incisive nature that singles out this wine. (A bit Coche). The aromas are fine and very lifted and appealing, with acacia flowers, lemon and white peach. It's classy with that comforting, classic kind of Meursault aroma that was a bit richer in past, but kept in check. There are notes of ripe fruit, citrus confit, some butter, and beurre noisette with some oak, but just the right amount. It's drinking really well now, but it will keep well for a few years.

#Tasting#

Owners, Marc and Patrick Dumont, father and son, had a vineyard in Meursault, but seeing how ridiculous it was all getting, sold up, and decided to put their efforts into a small parcel of 5 hectares they had in the tiny appellation of Cruzille, at the most northern fringe of Macon, to see how far they could go with it. It's an area from which producers of Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Puligny-Montrachet, eagerly buy grapes, as they're allowed to put into their wines up to 20% from outside their own appellation. They took on a very good winemaker, Frederic Servais, who won winemaker of the year in 'Bourgogne Aujourd'hui', in 2017. The results are hugely exciting.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2466/1541/files/BC_Upload_03468f89-fcad-400f-b339-2fb57d71e661.png?v=1766487945
