Tasting Notes
Sori della Rivoglia Dolcetto is from the one of the cru vineyards in the Diano municipiality north of Serralunga on a high ridge, a superb terroir that is better suited for the grape than Nebbiolo. This is a little herbaceous and medicinal on the nose with notes of sage, charcoal and tree bark, with a gorgeous, plush palate with a whisper of oak, and good tannins.

At the entrance of Diano d'Alba, you'll find Azienda Agricola Renzo Castella. Established in the early 1900s by Severino Castella as a traditional mixed farm, breeding animals, growing fruit and veg and making some wine, it was his son Simone who decided to shift the focus to grape production full time. In just a few years, they took their total vineyard holdings to 10ha. Now at the helm is oenologist Renzo Castella, who produced his first vintage in 2001. We love how Renzo's Dolcettos have an innate balance between the simple fruit driven styles of Dolcetto, and the bigger, oaked , blockbuster styles that just don't cut the mustard for us.
