Tasting Notes
From a 3ha marl and limestone climat with average vine age of 60 years, on average planted at high density on a broad, west-facing slope up to 390m elevation. A little more spicy- elegant, incense spice, a hint of peony or rose. Lifted aromas, bright cherry, redcurrant and cassis fruit, showing concentration and finesse – fine and very well defined. A very faint musk note. Lip-smacking freshness and ‘calcaire de St-Romain’ minerality.

Domaine Henri et Gilles Buisson is a sensational producer. They are most definitely a feather in our cap. We don’t come across producers like this often, that aren't already being imported to the UK. In fact, it would be just a few like this in a lifetime, such is the quality of terroir they have, but more importantly what they’re doing with it. The Sous La Velle is one of 4 lieu-dits made by the Buisson brothers, each as good as the last.
