I’ve heard of this cuvée being compared to Puligny in the past. Creamy white butter and elegant white flower and bright nectarine, white peach, vanilla and citrus on the nose. A plump mid-palate, and perhaps a little mellower than Sous le Velle. A nice amount of delicate wood spice.
Considered the warmest Saint-Romain chardonnay site the Buissons own, Sous le Chateau produces a wine with the richness of Sous la Velle if not the same power and concentration. A nice amount of delicate wood spice.
