Gianluca Bergianti, the star of Lambrusco - TERREVIVE

10 years ago Tamlyn Currin wrote a great article for Jancis Robinson called 'Lambrusco – not fizzling out'*. It looked at the battle faced by the Emilia-Romagnan's, in shaking off the reputation of brainless, sickly, party fizz, cultivated by the fame and infamy of the 1980's.

Yes, you could argue that I'm a little late to the article, having read it this afternoon, however, it is still a brilliant piece and I was inspired to search it out, off the back of our own fabulous Lambrusco wines, produced by the regions sparkling prince, Gianluca Bergianti.

Using only Biodynamic practise and driven by a determination to break the sticky mould of high volume and low quality, Gianluca's Terrevive wines have harboured a cult following, centred around his endlessly intriguing, gastronomic and extremely fine sparkling. The Italian Sommeliers love these wines and we do to (we have Nelson Pari's thanks for finding and bringing them to the UK). So next time you fancy a bottle of sparkling wine, I implore you to consider the beautiful, soulful wines of Terrevive, Gianluca's Lambrusco masterpiece.

- Ben Patrick, Swig Private Client Team x

https://www.jancisrobinson.com/articles/lambrusco-not-fizzling-out

Beautiful red skinned apples, orange peel, spice, and salty stones.
