Tasting Notes
Another Saffer wine that sits firmly in, if not at the very summit of, the unbeatable-value midweek bottle category. If you are in one of those households where someone likes Sauvignon but someone else has gone off it, and you can't agree on what to drink, then try this. It’s a quite blindingly good wine for the price and is made mostly from the rich, Rhone white variety Roussanne, with a little Chardonnay too. A bona fide charmer that will add a lovely bit of character to your lunch or dinner - a scent of stone fruits here, ripe melon, a soupcon of mountain herbs there, and just the right amount of fruit character to complement a mahoosive variety of foods. The finish is long and zippy, with hints of spearmint and Brighton rock and a kicking fresh finish.

Alphabetical Wines came from a decision to break the rules. They are made by friends David Cope and Simon Wibberly, who didn’t want to make a single varietal wine or even a classic blend. Unfussed by area or origin and not owning their own estate, or boasting years of heritage, they wanted to make wines that were fun - voluptuous yet drinkable, impressive yet affordable, honest products that are naturally fermented and made with the utmost care to maintain the integrity of the fruit and the variety character.
