Tasting Notes
High energy, bone dry, thrilling white from high up an unnamed road in the wild hinterland of Roussillon. It's quite a discovery - made from the Catalan/Roussillon grapes of the moment - Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc, Macabeu and a touch of Sauvignon.
More Info
It reminds us of the great white of Roussillon, Le Soula, and is not disimilar to the amazing white wine Silex we used to sell, but less rounded, more incisive and sharp. This is not one that will delight all your friends but if you seek a private drink that is electric, mineral laden, quite sharp, with exciting flavour intensity (citrus, white flowers )you can't do better than this. You can drink it over a week at least, probably two. It just doesn't seem to age once open, and will probably keep for over 10 years. I keep a bottle in the fridge and enjoy half a glass in the evening like I would a glass of Fino sherry. So few wines match with smoked salmon, but this was fabulous. It would also be lovely with fish or chicken prepared with lemon, capers, anchovies and herbs.
