Tasting Notes
We’re all big fans of wines that you can drink now, but will lay down nicely and really deliver more complexity and excitement in years to come. The 2022 vintage is beautifully expressive and ripe on the nose, the palate is plumptious, smooth, and mouthfilling, full of Pinot Noir fruit but you do get a glimpse of some of the lovely aromas and flavours sous bois that will continue to develop in time. It's surely a wine that will still be superb in six to ten years, but it is way too delicious not to enjoy now with roast chicken, roast fish, partridge, pasta or risotto with wild mushrooms, and cheese. It's full enough that you could drink it with steak. Delicious.

Burgundy of this quality and price doesn't come around often. It is from a vineyard in the area of Ladoix – just to the north of Beaune and across the road from the hill of Corton. We first discovered this wine dining at a local restaurant, and quickly became smitten. For the first few years of working with them, we struggled to get enough of an allocation. But we kept knocking on the door every January, asking how the latest vintage was looking and whether they had any for us. What inspired our persistence? Several things, but perhaps foremost is that they treat their most basic village wines with the same care and attention as their Grand Cru offerings. In a world where Burgundy reaches astronomical prices, it’s reassuring that you can still get exceptional quality at the entry level.
