Tasting Notes
Gob-smackingly good. On the nose, there's notes of ripe strawberries, blackcurrant, a hint of celery salt and attractive dusty, pebbly note. The palate is ultra-plush, broad in the mouth, with dark spiced berries, plums, orange oil and Christmas spice. Tannins ae present, but well integrated, and the finish goes and on and on. Released for the first time in 2021 from the outstanding 2015 vintage, Amphitheatre is Keermont's new flagship wine produced from the parcels that have delivered the best quality over Keermont's short 14 history, all planted around the natural amphitheatre that the farm sits. The blend will change each year, and the maiden 2015 is 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, 22% Merlot, 17% Petit Verdot, and the remainder a little Malbec and Syrah, aged for 19 months in barrel and 5 years in bottle before release. Drink now and for many years to come.
