There's so much to like about this delicious Chilean Chardonnay made in partnership De Martinho Wines, who are without a doubt, one of the most exciting and progressive names on the Chilean wine scene. Really smart -pear and citrus zing, with a fine smokiness and chalky notes, with a nicely rounded palate – crunchy apple, ripe pear and a long finish.
Calco is the fruits of a new collaboration between Triangle Wines (aka Ben and Alvaro from fellow London based wine importer Indigo Wines) and the De Martino family, to make small batches wines from specially selected plots in the cool Pacific influenced Limarí Valley.
FROM THE PRESS
“Very cool and restrained on the nose with some impression of minerality. Extremely delicate oak influence and yet real intensity of flavour, and very bright fruit with light notes of green vegetation. Nice little bit of chew on the end and impressive persistence for the price – which is excellent for a three-year-old wine made this well. VGV 17/20 ”Jancis Robinson MW
“An indication of just how accomplished modern winemaking in Chile can be. This is an exceptional dry crisp Limari Valley chardonnay - well-rounded, pure and mineral, with lashings of soft white fruit. You could easily mistake this for a wine from one of the famous regions in France.”Will Lyons, The Times
