Tasting Notes
"Since there’s no Nerello Cuppucio or Mascalese here in SA, Grenache is the next best thing and it works a charm. The grapes are from a farm of old bush vines outside Darling and were picked on 13 February: early enough to ensure a good, fresh tannin – but not quite as aggresive as the 2016 vintage(!). Grapes were handpicked, footstomped and fermented naturally. A gentle basket-press and then the wine left in a single old 500L barrel for a whole year. Minimal sulphur added before bottling, this is a lean, mean Grenache machine that is drinking superbly already." David Cope, Winemaker

David only made 600 bottles of each of these Full Moon wines, so they're super-rare - they are wines that he's made purely for the love of it. We're so glad he did because these are full of character, freshness and quaffability, wines whose primary function is to throw out pleasure into the world. We love how David's approach to wine cuts through all the waffle and pretension. He knows that the wines themselves will say everything that needs to be said. And he sells them at a price that means everyone can enjoy them. What's not to like about that?
