Dark ruby red in colour, this vintage has a complex bouquet of ripe red berry fruit, cassis, vanilla pudding, and a touch of forest floor. The pallet is soft and rich, with gentle, rounded tannins and savoury notes of cocoa and cloves adding character to the bright red strawberry and mulberry flavours which linger into a long, tight, juicy finish. Drink now and over the next 12 years.
Keermont Estate may well take the prize for most beautiful vineyards and views in all of South Africa. And yup, there's some pretty stiff competition! Nestled in a natural amphitheatre between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains, their ambition is to produce wines that reflect the natural wonders of this exquisite place.
FROM THE PRESS
“Red currant, cassis, some leafiness, floral perfume, vanilla and oak spice on the nose while the palate is surprisingly medium bodied given an alcohol of 15% – good fruit definition and nicely grippy tannins, the finish long and dry. 92/100”Christian Eedes, winemag.co.za
“The Keermont Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the north-facing, low-yielding Cottage Lane Block and is a serious, somewhat shuttered red with lots of grip, dense damson and blackcurrant fruit, subtle wood and a herbal undertone from 10% Cabernet Franc. 2022-28”Tim Atkin MW
