More Info
Monte Santoccio is a producer in Fumane, in the West of Valpolicella. It is a small family estate a top the hill of Santoccio overlooking Fumane, one of the famous villages of Amarone. Nicola Ferrari is the producer. Nicola refers to this luxurious red Santoccio Rosso as baby-Amarone. Having been made with 80% partially dried grapes it is indeed very similar. To the local varieties (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara) is added 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It’s an inspired blend with its beautiful Italian aromas and hints of vanilla. Though rich in flavour and smooth in body it is also elegant.
