Tasting Notes
60% Montepulciano, 40% Sangiovese that is soft, juicy and a perfect party wine. Nothing pretentious here, just a really honest little number from the Polini family. I've drunk it 3 times recently and each time I've been amazed by its warmth, charm, ripe fruit and herbs, and can't quite believe what a bargain it is. If only bottles would come around like this more often.

Drink with: Olives Ascolane - pitted green olives stuffed with beef/veal and/or pork mince and Parmesan, coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried. In Le Marche on Italy's Adriatic coast, eating generally involves deep-frying various delicious ingredients in a light batter until they're crisp and golden-brown. These deep-fried olives are one of the most irresistible little finger foods you will ever taste, and whomsoever you serve them to will love you for ever. A sauce of tomato sofrito turns them into a lovely starter.
