Tasting Notes
The vineyards are near Tournon, opposite Hermitage. Aymeric Paillard worked at Delas, where he converted their Hermitage vineyard to organic, and did some work for Stephane Ogier, prior to finding a 4 hectare vineyard he farms organically. Concentrated, fresh and mineral, with taut compact fruit. There is super tight blackcurrant, licorice, savoury wood and garrigue notes and a hint of pepper. Beautiful, fine, old school style. "Intense dark purple core and hue. Meaty and spicy aromas of smoked meat, liquorice, ripe blackberry and incense. Very good grip on the palate combining concentrated fruit, ample tannin and a fresh backbone. Layered with floral dark fruit, spice, meat and a long powerful finish" - Andreas Larsson (Former best sommelier in the world)
