Tasting Notes
To find a classy Bordeaux that has hints of all the things we like – sweet berries, cedar and spicy oak, with good body and concentration - at this price is rare. Note that this super-grand Grande Vin comes from the excellent 2016 vintage, which in this case has helped to propel a comparatively modest claret into the realm of Cru Classé. Drink with: rosbif!
More Info
To fine good value Bordeaux it's almost inevitable you'll have to look beyond the famous regions. The Cotes du Bourg is on Bordeaux' right bank - opposite Margaux - and up from Fronsac, St Emilion and Pomerol. The soil here is limestone and clay. The Chateau has been in the family for five generations. Maryvonne and Francis Bebot take great care and due to its modest size can give a lot of attention to the vines.
