They might be rare, but we love the intricacy and delicacy that Pinot Meunier delivers when it's allowed to shine on it's own. This stunning example from English winery Hush Heath is a prime example of this individuality. So what are you waiting for - try one now!
'Made exclusively from beautifully ripe Pinot Meunier, usually the ‘quiet partner’ in classic sparkling blends, this distinctive wine is certainly a first for England. A short three-day fermentation on the skins, was followed by a brief time in French and American oak. With minimal filtration, the result is a delicate and aromatic red wine that is near impossible to replicate.' Winemakers Note
FROM THE PRESS
“Cherry-wood smoke over raspberry jam. Fragrant, ethereal, breathy cigar wisping and curling gossamer ribbons around dried cranberries and redcurrants. A lick of driftwood, a whiff of mushroom compost and black truffle, then tissue-paper layers of cedar-cigar spice and smoked cherry skin and silky, translucent red fruit. Exquisitely sketched and framed with the power and delicacy of Japanese Edo artworks. If Brexit means we have to drink more wines like this, I could come round.”17.5/20 (Tamlyn Currin) JancisRobinson.com
