Tasting Notes
The second release of the Mullineux's iconic Olerasay sweet wine. Each vintage, since 2008, the Mullineux's have held back a barrel or two of their superb Straw Wine and blended them together, refreshing the solera each year with the new vintages. Olerasay #2 is from barrels which have been fractionally blended for the vintages 2008 through 2019, producing a multilayered wine with great complexity. They only bottled a portion, keeping the rest back to continue for decades to come. R.S 331g/l
More Info
Founding members of the Swartland Revolution, four times winner Platter Guide Winery of the Year, and The Wine Enthusiast's Winemaker of the Year 2016, Chris and Andrea Mullineux are one serious power couple. Based just outside of Riebeek Kasteel on their farm Roundstone, their ambition is bottle wines that are a true expression of the Swartland. Its granite, schist and iron soils, its wind swept sites, old vines, hot climate and long, dry Summers. With Chris in charge of the vineyards and viticulture, and Andrea at the helm in the cellar, it has been a joy to see the incredible quality coming out of the estate year on year. Are there any more talented duos in South Africa? I don't think anyone would question it.
