I've always loved 'Cedro'. But this is a new level. It's made only from Tuscan varieties. You get a lovely aroma of Sangiovese - cherries and ripe fruits, warmth, some herbs and earth. It's wonderful to have this much typicity, but also generosity, without it being in new oak or being overworked. It's such a pleasure when you raise a glass of wine to your nose and it fills you with good aromas and a sense of joy. It really does. I'm very impressed. Bravo!
From the beautiful Lavacchio estate that champions organic farming and the organic lifestyle! The nose is earthy at first, but then reveals sweet and sour black cherries surrounded by fresh flower petals, wild herbs and a touch of mint. You could be walkingalong the Tuscan hills in a late autumn breeze, surveying the beautiful landscape. Those pretty floral notes are just beginning to really express themselves.
FROM THE PRESS
“While I usually wear my business hat when I visit a winery, I made an exception at Lavacchio. I stayed at the hotel here a few years ago and I can tell you that this winery and estate is situated in an idyllic setting high up in the hills above Florence. This altitude blesses this wonderful Chianti with uncommon freshness and silkiness and this makes it a joy to drink now. Seamless, alluring and enticing, this is a delicious wine and I have even stood underneath the Cedro and soaked up the amazing view!”Matthew Jukes, MoneyWeek
