Beautiful pure aromas - ripe cox apple - you can sense the depth in the wine - but it’s still dancing on the nose - with a tingle of sherbert. The palate is generous but not overly, kept in check by its toned fruit and nice lick of acidity.
Finding that something special in Burgundy can sometimes feel like a monumental quest and never more than at the moment with frosts, hail and record low production thwarting the last two vintages. In the wake of the devastation, we have never been more grateful to have the rock that is Domaine Thibert. Seemingly oblivious to the chaos around them Christophe and Sandrine continue to deliver stunning wines that over deliver time and time again.
FROM THE PRESS
“Pale yellow. Inviting, higher-pitched aromas of soft citrus fruits, crushed rock and spices. Broad and rich but vibrant too, conveying terrific energy and smoky, spicy, savory intensity to its flavors of menthol and crushed stone. Wonderfully fine-grained Pouilly-Fuissé with sneaky length--and a lemony elegance and grip that are atypical for this vintage. Time in the cellar should bring greater richness without any loss of spine.”Stephen Tanzer, Vinous on the 2015
