Robin: "I tried this wine the other night. I was hoping it would be good of course, but it was more than that. It was absolutely gorgeous. Honestly, this is everything you would want Barolo to be. I’ve drunk plenty of Barolo that are £100 and over a bottle that don’t get close to delivery this kind of appeal and complexity. In its prime now, no need to wait. But will still be lovely in 4 or 5 years. But absolutely for drinking now."

FROM THE PRESS
“The 2016 Barolo Mariondino is another potent, heady wine in this range. The red fruit and floral notes typical of this site emerge, but the Mariondino is big and very dark in 2016. Like all of these Barolos, the Mariondino is built for the long haul. In most vintages, Mariondino is a Barolo of sensuality but the 2016 is a real powerhouse. Time in the glass brings out red fruit and floral notes, but this is an XL Barolo. 94 points. 2026-2041 ”Antonio Galloni, Vinous
