Tasting Notes

From the argile and calcaire soils of sought-after site, Les Tuvilains, close to Pommard. Lovely fragrance and oh-so-sprightly. Redcurrant coulis, summer pudding and a gentle hint of wood spice and pot pourri. Mouthwatering and very svelte on the palate - poached damsons, more exotic sweet spice and bold mouthfeel. Very long - drink 2022-2026.

More Info

Philippe switched a high-flying career in insurance in Paris for taking over his family domaine in the village of Nantoux, a stone's throw from Meursault. The estate has grown under his stewardship, taking their vineyard holdings to 13ha in 6 villages across the Cote de Beaune. They are HVE certified - or Haute Valeur Environmentale - an alternate environmental certification to organics centred on the principles of agroecology. Zero use of herbicide or insecticide, the adoption of low impact techniques and great importance placed on improving soil health, its water and CO2 holding capacity, and  improving biodiversity in all areas.
