From a beautiful little bush vine site planted in pure rugged schist on the Riebeeck mountain in the Swartland. Tiny quantities made - just 3 barrels! This is a big wine, but a very well-balanced mouthful. Soft, juicy, rounded and loaded with fresh blackberries an compote, blueberries, baking spice, candied fruits and kiss of vanilla. A gorgeous, rounded mouthful, but with high acidity that makes your mouth water and makes it so very appealing. The Spaniard is an old friend in the BLANkbottle stable, and this wine is just that too - a familiar, friendly face with a warm hug.
'I like to refer to what we do as journeys within each wine. Our destination we sort of figure out as we go along. My introduction to Mourvedre, Carignan, Cinsaut and Grenache was in 2007.
