Tasting Notes
Tasting blind, one might think this is one of their more premium single vineyard wines. It is at once super fine and super concentrated with swathes of lime, preserved lemon, citrus peel and grapefruit penetrating the senses followed by a delicious buttered toast character, tongue-tingling minerals and all this capped off by a mouthwatering lemon acidity. Bright, focused and engaging with a finish that really lingers. Beautiful with fish, scallops, lobster and smoked salmon, and turkey. It’s also a lovely wine to simply sip on its own.
More Info
Domaine Henri et Gilles Buisson is a sensational producer. They are most definitely a feather in our cap. We don’t come across producers like this often, that aren't already being imported to the UK. In fact, it would be just a few like this in a lifetime, such is the quality of terroir they have, but more importantly what they’re doing with it. The Sous La Velle is one of 4 lieu-dits made by the Buisson brothers, each as good as the last.
