Tasting Notes
I was so impressed with the Sauvignon Blanc 2019. I have always loved the Constantia style and Buitenverwaching. But this vintage is singing! With its slightly green, herbaceous aromas, balanced by blackcurrant and a beautiful fresh, pure, piercing, invigorating and refreshing sustained fruit on the palate.

It's really, really delicious, with a long finish. I was just in touch with winemaker Brad Paton this morning, and without me prompting he said he thinks it's his best. He told me it's comprised of his 13 best blocks on the farm, "It's not just a big nose with an insipid palate. It's got a beautiful lingering finish". This is great value compared with NZ Sauvignons, which are around £18 for this kind of quality. It is sensational Sauvignon for this price, and reminds me of the buzz I got from Steenberg Reserve when it was on song, when we used to ship it 16 years ago.
