This is a really exciting new take on the Florpower, their delicious unfortified wine. Normally they age this under flor (flor is the tangy, salty, yeast that develops on top of the wine in the barrel, like with Manzanilla and Fino, dry sherry) but the fruit quality was so exceptional they’ve kept it in stainless steel and aged it without oxidation. It’s the epitome of minerality with a sapidity and texture.
At the root of EQUIPO NAVAZOS is the conviction that the greatness of traditional Andalusian wines resides, first of all, in the vines. For years we have worked with the hypothesis that the winery’s terroir has a weight equivalent to that of the vineyard’s terroir. However we are increasingly convinced that, when the latter is excellent, it always makes its way to become the protagonist, regardless of the age of the wine and of the aging process to which it has been subjected: under veil, oxidative or as a common white wine; fortified or not; fermented in casks or in tanks.
