Plexus is a textured white with a vibrant expression of lifted aromas of ripe nectarine and peach, ginger flower, citrus, and florals. Elegant palate of excellent fruit purity. Peach, nectarine follow through to the palate with mandarin and subtle baking spice on the finish. Will build texture and reward cellaring over the next 5+ years.
John Duval is so well known for producing wines of depth and concentration, with 3 decades at Penfolds and 12 years as Chief Winemaker crafting Grange itself, John Duval is one of the most respected winemakers in the world. The past five vintages of his Entity Shiraz have earned 96, 97, 99, 97, 93 points from Australian critic James Halliday, and the 2017 vintage even beat Henschke’s Hill of Grace to claim the title of Australia’s Shiraz of the Year (this wine sells for £500 per bottle, as does Penfold’s Grange!). These are wines to cherish.
FROM THE PRESS
“Pale in colour, there is a delicious array of bright, primary fruits; lemon pith, hay, nut kernel and just a touch of apricot announcing viognier’s small part to play. If you are not a Viognier fan there is nothing to fear here with the impact more textural than what can be a pungent aromatic kick. Tangy acidity is the key element on the palate which sits below concentrated citrus and acacia flavours before a lingering, silky finish. A pithy texture and dusting of Middle Eastern spices top off what is a delicious Australian example of the classic Rhone blend. 93 points. ”Angus Hughson Wine Pilot July 2021
“Delicious drinking. Not overly complicated but certainly shows detail and interest to the drinker. Has lots of quince, preserved lemon and ginger characters, bits of green mango, scents and flavours similar. Tasty as. Intersting to drink. A satisfying wine.”Mike Bennie The Wine Front July 2021
