Beautifully fragrant and silky Syrah from a seriously talented producer in the northern Rhone. This is a glorious expression of northern Rhone Syrah, swirling with high-toned blackcurrant fruit, cherry, violets, cracked black pepper and savoury grilled bacon notes.
Silky, smooth and rich without being heavy or slack, it’s a wonderfully refreshing wine to pair with food as it has the freshness and verve to bond with rich dishes as well as beautiful flavours to accompany them. Rosine is from the hilltop of Tupin-Semons, between the two appellations of Condrieu and Cote Rotie. The plot was bought (without vines) and entirely planted by Michel Ogier in the 80’s, then by Stéphane in the 90’s. There are Syrah (La Rosine), Viognier and a little bit of Roussanne. It is not classified Condrieu or Côte-Rôtie but the soil is 100% decomposed granite like some slopes of the Blonde side Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu.
