Domaine de Mouline came as one of those magical discoveries you make while sweating away at a chaotic French tasting, feverishly trying to find THE ONE (right taste, right price), as the clock ticks and the pressure mounts and you start to panic realising that they're about to pack up for the day so you start rushing around thrusting your glass in front of every producer you see, spurred on almost exclusively at this late stage by the dread of coming home with nothing to show for your travel expenses and your sinew-straining effort.
About this Wine
An intensely ruby-red in colour. A rich nose of red cherries, plums and subtle peppery notes. Medium-bodied in texture with flavours of red berries, cassis and a hint of mint. Refreshing acidity and a long finish make this an excellent food wine. Serve with a rabbit and prune stew, duck confit or fillet steak with a Bearnaise sauce.
