From a relatively high altitude vineyard (near 400m) located in the village of St Joseph (appropriately, the soil is of decomposed granite, as is found in the village’s Northern Rhône namesake). The terroir here makes for a fresher, finer style, with a gouleyant acidity.
About this Wine
In the glass, the wine is of a bright, pale purple. The nose gives notes of ripe cranberry, red gooseberry, hints of red cherry, stewed strawberry and fresh violets. On the palate the tannins are soft. The fruit is concentrated. Riper notes of raspberry and cassis, mix ethereally with mint, liquorice and earthier, spicy notes.
