'This is the Blanc de Noirs from the 2012 vintage; all Pinot Noir, all in barrels. En tirage for 60 months. The aroma is pure Montagne Pinot! It’s an exhale of red fruit and earth. This is zero dosage and works well in this mode—there is enough gras to carry the fruit through the finish. There is a complex mid palette here, intertwining a woods-y, smoke-y character with a bright bend of fruit giving structure and harmony to the wine.'
About this Wine
'One of the most stylish and energy filled grower producer Champagne labels to emerge in recent years, in America is Sebastien Mouzon’s Mouzon-Leroux, these hand crafted and natural sparkling wines are striking efforts, especially his L’Atavique Extra Brut, one of my new favorites and this gorgeous vintage 2012 Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Special Club bottling L’ineffable Brut Nature (non dosage) made from 100% Pinot Noir.' FROM THE PRESS
“The 2012 Brut Nature L'Ineffable Blanc de Noirs is another gorgeous wine in this range. Deep and pliant, the 2012 offers terrific immediacy. Vinification and aging in barrel softens the contours and allows the pedigree of this fruit to speak with great precision. The 2012 was bottled with no dosage, but that is not especially apparent, as the wine carries terrific baritone richness from start to finish. In this tasting, the Ineffable is not quite as nuanced as the finest wines in the range, but it is nevertheless deeply impressive for its pure power and overall intensity. Disgorged: October 2017.”Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
