So delicious, and class, with ripe Cabernet, smooth Merlot, a touch of lift from the Cabernet and a nice bit of grip from the Petit Verdot, and perfectly judged oak that blends in beautifully. Aroma of cassis and dry herbs and spices; super smooth. Wonderful with roast and grilled meats, but also with lighter dinners and lunches.
Our friends at Tenuta Sette Cieli, who make their fantastic Indaco and Scipio on the next hill over from Sassicaia, which was just outside the famous Bolgheri zone when the lines were drawn, make a little of this wine for restaurants who need a 'Bolgheri'. A superb bottle of red.
