Tasting Notes
"Dried rose perfume in with some fresh mint, deep raspberry favour, a little almond and vanilla, plus some spice. It’s ripe, but not overly so, with cool acidity, a dusting of graphite tannin, and a long biscuity finish. It’s generous in style, but keeps itself trim. I’m particularly tickle by the quality of tannin here. Excellent” Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

Robin: "I’ve been aware of the reputation of Curly Flat for many years, but so little was imported, sometimes none. A much-admired winemaker, Matt Harrop, took over the vineyards and winemaking in 2017. I tried the 2017, which I could have got at the time, but after drinking the 2018, like some critics, I thought this was a serious step up, and I made a particular effort to get hold of some. Curly Flat Pinot comes from the Macendon Ranges of Victoria and is a neighbor of the legendary winemaker Bindi. Their original block was planted in 1992. Matt has added a touch more brightness and finesse to the wines, which were already much admired.
