Not your ordinary white, that's for sure. Jancis Robinson has likened previous vintages of this to fine white Burgundy and we couldn't agree more! The concentration and delicate minerality of this wine separates it from the crowd and definitively marks it out as the finest example among its peers. It may well be one of Spain's best value, high quality whites that we've been unofficial cheerleader of for many, many years. It’s a perfect dinner party white as it looks super smart, it’s that little bit unique and different, but also classic. Most of all, it's blindingly delicious!

Rafael Palacios is the youngest of the nine children in the highly talented winemaking Palacios Remondo family. His brother Alvaro may be most famous for his work in Priorat, but Rafael is king of Valdeorras without doubt. After acquiring formal education in Bordeaux and working as the white wine maker at the family estate in Rioja, he was introduced to the mineral and rich Godello grape variety in 1996 and made the move to Valdeorras in the early 2000s. The rest is history - Rafael has proven Godello to be capable of producing wines to rival the finest of white Burgundy.
