It definitely fits into the 'old school' Rioja category, summoning thoughts of old libraries and worn leather armchairs, but has enough ripe generous fruit and velvety appeal to satisfy those who have more modern leanings. This is exactly what great Rioja should be. Warm, deep, rich, sweetly delicious and comforting, yet rallied by sour cherry and orange juice acidity, it's a Spanish postcard in flavour form.
About this Wine
Beautiful aromas of coconut, sweet vanilla, orange cream, chestnut purée, old wooden writing desks, moist tobacco, autumn leaves, a marmoset with asthma, ok not the last one, but it's amazingly evocative.
