About this Wine
Medium-deep ruby colour, showing a hint of maturity at the rim (i.e. it's not a young, purple wine). It has a warm and inviting nose of creamy black cherries and coconut macaroon - an effect of the American oak, which gives away its telltale Rioja origins.
The palate is where the fun really begins. It's as smooth as David Niven in a velvet smoking jacket, with plush, ripe, puréed berry fruits combined with pashmina-soft tannins. It warms the palate with notes of plum pudding, milk chocolate, crème catalana and sage. There's a richness that is really satisfying and a softness on the palate that means you can enjoy it without food.
