Tasting Notes
Just the finest hint of umami and dusty earth, coated in beautiful fruit. The Rosso is just so juicy and elegant. Some producers ramp up the yields significantly for their Rosso using higher production methods, and often use their less good vineyards, but in Jessica's case, this wine is from her the same prime vineyard as her Brunello, but just a little less time in barrel. Each sip leaves you enveloped and wanting to go back. Drink now-2031.
More Info
Jessica Pellegrini started in 2010 with 5 hectares of land that her family bought on the special hillside 'cru' of Montosoli (think of it as a top vineyard in Burgundy or Barolo), yet already she is talked about by peers as one of the top wines to seek out. Interest also rose in the wines when Fernando Pardini of 'Slow Wine' described her as the female counterpart of Il Marroneto, a producer that is getting a lot of plaudits and something of a cult following.
