Stick your nose in this and you get that mouthwatering, autumn leaves, smoky sous bois, minerally pinot perfume, wild strawberry, red cherry, orange rind, sandalwood-clove hints.
The palate is mellow and supple, orange-inflected red berry fruit, hint of vanilla wood spice, sweetly suggestive mercurial pinot style all the way, soft tannins and a fine backbone of acidity. Yet again, a really moreish, impressive pinot from Bulgaria. Hats off.
FROM THE PRESS
“Very pale ruby with orange highlights. Lightly sweaty Pinot nose but lovely sweet fruit and delicacy on the palate. This is certainly a good buy for those who enjoy Pinot fruit at a bargain price. It already seems quite light and fragile but not falling off its perch and its lasts forever in the mouth.”16/20 Jancis Robinson
“Bulgaria might not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of quality pinot noir, however in a sheltered little vineyard on the eastern side of the Thracian Valley, Italian winemaker Edoardo Miroglio is crafting delicious, juicy, perfumed pinot. I’ve tried this blind against many different pinot noirs from around the world and I was convinced it was a Santenay from Burgundy – and I wasn’t the only one in the group. The wine is light, fresh, fragrant with redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit and it’s dangerously easy to drink. Perfect for a Thursday evening when you are just in the mood for a glass of something delicious.”Charlie Stein, GQ Magazine published 29.08.2020
“This Bulgarian estate has a reputation for making some of the best value versions of this capricious variety, Soli is a light, delicate, perfumed delight with red cherry, strawberry and savoury depth. It can also be served chilled.”Victoria Moore, The Telegraph 04.04.2020
