A 3ha marl and limestone climat with vines aged 60 on average planted at high density on a broad, west-facing slope up to 390m altitude. Yields of around 40hl/ha. Five days’ cold maceration, gentle pump overs, without much oxygen. Typically, they don’t do much pigeage here (they did not at all in 2018). 20% new oak.
About this Wine
A little more spicy. Hint of toasty reduction. Elegant, incense spice, a hint of peony or rose. Lifted aromas, bright cherry, redcurrant and cassis fruit, showing concentrationand finesse – fine and very well defined. A very faint musk note. Lip-smacking freshness and ‘calcaire de St-Romain’ minerality.
