Good godfathers this is a lovely chardonnay. Reminds me more of Burgundy than South Africa. Restrained in style with fine yet concentrated flavours of lemon pie, citrus and creamy white flower, and the gentlest savoury core of toasty blanched nut and flint, all delivered with the subtlety of ministering angels descended to earth with a sacred mission to show how delightful Walker Bay chardonnay can be.
A lovely sense of freshness and integrated, a slightly saline minerality and restrained yet luminous fruit - sunripe melon and peach, lemon and lime. And creamy white butter. Gorgeous fine texture, a hint of mealy yestiness... There's so much more to come from this but right now it's so dew-fresh and bright.
