The blend is fascinating to us wine geeks but probably extremely boring to those who just want to know if it's delicious or not - it is delicious! But for those that are interested here it goes:

- Roussanne 28% Stellenbosch & Paardeberg,13 years old, decomposed granite & clay
- Chardonnay 16% Ceres Plateau, 7 years old,
- Chenin blanc 15% Paardeberg, 41 years old, decomposed granite
- Clairette blanche 6% Swartland, 36 years old, decomposed granite
Production is very small so buy them while you can!
Tasting Notes
Give it a good swirl and don't serve too cold - yellow plums, candied pineapple, hay, wild honey and nut brittle lead into a rounded, intense palate of griddled walnuts, honey filo pastry and a subtle gun flint smokiness with a long finish. Production is very small so buy them while you can! Named after the rocking horse John and Tasha built for their daughters out of old barrel staves, this is their signature wine, a blend of Semillon, Roussanne, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Clairette, from sites across the Western Cape, from Ceres to Stellenbosch.
More Info
This small but almost 'cult' winery is producing some stunning low intervention wines. Based in the beautiful Western Cape of South Africa, John and Tasha Seccombe have been making wine since 2012. Their ethos is to produce simple, honest and gentle wines that tell a story of the Cape of Good Hope. We've followed them since the very first vintages.
