Tasting Notes
From the south of Gran Canaria, this is lush, creamy, with mandarin, lychee, white tea, floral notes and lemon butter, with a creamy palate and bracing fresh acidity. Fantastic poise and long finish- volcanic soils at their best. Vijariego Blanco is an exceptionally rare grape variety, confusingly not related to Vijariego, that Jancis Robinson MW once compared to Assyrtiko thanks to its ability to retain vibrant acidity even when grown in very hot climates.

Now here's a collaboration quite unlike any other. Take one of Spain's greatest winemakers, Jonatan Garcia of Suertes del Marques fame in Tenerife, and ex Man City footballer and Canary Island native, David Silva - now there's a dream team! A fast friendship struck up between the two of them after David reached out to Jonatan on twitter after he particularly enjoyed one the Suertes de Marques wines. David said, 'congratulations, it is great that the wines from the Canary Islands are so good now.' And just a few months later, Bodegas Tamerán was born. It is an incredible project that celebrates the unique growing conditions, soils, history and local grape varieties of the Canary Islands.
